Note: These types of reflections may be more personal than you'd like in a journal you're sharing with your teacher, so feel free to write your reflection in a personal space, and then write in your Flex Journal about the process of reflecting on something through these lenses. What was difficult? What changed before and after the reflection? Has your perception of the topic or lens now changed? 

 

Gender: Where does gender come from? How is it different from our sex? Does it affect how we see the world, or how the world sees us? How?

 

Family: Who is our family? How many different types of families are there? What is the function of our family? What do we do when we are separated from them, or when we wish we were?

 

Culture: How does the place we live, and its history, affect who we are today? What are our traditions? 

 

Citizen: How do we participate in our community? How do we present ourselves and behave? What is our responsibility to our community? 

 

Place: Where do we live? What does it look like? Where do we spend our time? How could it be better?
